Dumfries and Galloway Conservative and Unionist Association returned both our candidates to the Scottish Parliament, following a keenly fought campaign.
Finlay Carson MSP returned to represent Galloway and West Dumfries, and Craig Hoy MSP is elected to represent Dumfriesshire, following Scottish Parliament elections on 7th May.
Association Chairman Mr William Moses said, “I am delighted to see both candidates heading back to Holyrood. This is a victory for common sense, and for the continuation of the Union. Both re-elected MSPs have a solid track record of diligently and sincerely representing all constituents over the past decade, now re-confirmed by the people of Dumfries and Galloway continuing to place their well earned trust in them.

Finlay Carson MSP expressed his gratitude to voters across Galloway and West Dumfries after being re-elected to the Scottish Parliament for a third consecutive term representing his home constituency.
Mr Carson said it was a “great honour and privilege” to continue serving the area where he was born and raised, and pledged to build on the work already undertaken on behalf of local communities. Looking ahead, his priorities will include improving rural healthcare services, supporting local businesses, securing better transport and road infrastructure, and ensuring that the voices of people living in rural south-west Scotland are heard clearly at Holyrood. Mr Carson also reaffirmed his commitment to tackling the rising cost of living and working to create greater opportunities for young people and families across the region.
